Bike For Bread Bike A Thon Image

2006 Bike-A-Thon

Bike for Bread is a non-profit organization that has been raising money for years to support those who are hungry and homeless.  It is run entirely by volunteers and has no overhead costs so all money raised goes directly to help those in need. Bike for Bread 2006 is a student-driven initiative started by the Oswegatchie School Enrichment Clusters.

The Bike-A-Thon is open to people of all ages.  Everyone is invited to participate in the Waterford High School (WHS) ride to see how many 1-mile laps they are able to complete.

Adults (those over 14-years old) looking for a more challenging ride are invited to do the 15-20 mile ride around the shoreline of Waterford and New London.

Instead of raising money on a “per lap” or “per mile” basis, we are asking that riders simply request sponsorship to ride (download sponsorship form)  or make a donation themselves.  Sponsorship / donations will be accepted in the form of checks (made out to “Bike for Bread”) or cash.  Sponsor sheets and donations may be turned in at the registration site on the day of the ride.
